On the anniversary of last year’s bike trip, we had the chance to run it back for a few days in Germany. Berlin is one of Europe’s premier capitals, and there is no shortage of things to explore, especially on a bike. The city’s vast network of bike lanes, paths, and infrastructure has me wishing that this could be the norm in more US cities.

Berlin also has a long and interesting history, including the division between East and West Berlin during the Cold War. While crossing back and forth between the different sides of town, you can still see remnants of Berlin’s past.

All in all, this was a nice mini-bike trip and we also enjoyed some fantastic spring weather. Aside from Berlin, Germany has lots to offer and would be worth returning to. If you’re more curious about what it’s like to bike around in Germany, there’s another chaotic highlight reel linked to this post.
